Vegetarian Burgers

1  cup garbanzo beans (chickpeas) soaked overnight in 2 cups of water
1 medium onion, chopped
3 tablespoons soy milk powder
1 cup pecan meal (crushed pecan nuts)
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup instant oats
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast flakes
2 tablespoons sage
2 teaspoons garlic powder
½ teaspoon sea salt
3 tablespoons soy sauce, lite (or Braggs)
¼ cup canola oil



Method:
Place beans, onion, soy milk, pecan meal, oats and yeast into a blender and blend until smooth. Then add sage, garlic, sea salt, soy sauce. Stir. Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes.
 
 


​Warm oil in pan until hot.
Shape the burger by hand (wet your hands first and the mixture won't stick to them) or use a shape former.

Cook for 10 minutes or until brown on each side. Flatten it down before turning and cooking the other side.
 
Will make 15 large burgers if using a ¼ cup measure. Or they can be shaped into sausages.
Add other spices of your choice for variation of flavour.
